Planning brows and skin before a wedding or Eid: a timeline

A calm timeline for brows, lashes, facials and laser before a wedding, engagement or Eid, so skin and brows look their best on the day.

Weddings, engagements, henna nights and Eid often come with weeks of family gatherings, photos and long days. You want to look like yourself, only rested and polished. The best way to get there is to start early and keep the final weeks simple.

This timeline works for brides, mothers of the bride, sisters and guests. Move it around to suit your date and your skin.

The golden rules

  1. Never try anything new in the last two weeks. A first-time peel, lamination or tint should be done months before, so you know how your skin and hair respond.
  2. Plan around the sun. Many treatments need you to avoid tanning and strong sun before and after.
  3. Leave room for life. Fasting, travel, family visits and late nights all affect skin. Build in buffer days.
  4. Keep the final week gentle. Hydrate, sleep, wear sunscreen, and let your therapist guide you.

Six to twelve months before

This is the time for treatments that take a course.

Laser hair reduction

If you would like smoother underarms, bikini line, legs or upper lip for the wedding and honeymoon, start now. Most people need around six to eight sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart. Laser is hair reduction, not permanent removal, and results vary from person to person. A consultation and patch test come first.

Remember that laser needs untanned skin, so if your wedding falls in summer, start in autumn or winter.

Skin concerns

If you have pigmentation, acne marks or texture you would like to improve, book a skin analysis now. Courses of peels, and any resurfacing, need time between sessions and time to settle. Deeper resurfacing such as fractional CO2 needs about a week of planned downtime, and the skin keeps settling for weeks after.

Brow growth

If your brows are over-plucked, stop tweezing and threading at home now. Book a signature brow shaping so we can map a shape and tell you which hairs to leave. Brows can take months to grow back.

Three to six months before

  • Continue your laser course.
  • Try brow lamination and lash lift and tint once, so you know how they suit you.
  • Start a monthly facial if you would like one. A hydradermabrasion facial suits most skin and has no real downtime.
  • Settle into a simple home routine: gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF 50+.

Six to eight weeks before

  • Book your final pre-wedding appointments now. Late-afternoon and weekend times fill quickly in wedding season and before Eid.
  • Have your last chemical peel if you are on a course.
  • Have any IPL or laser pigmentation treatment no later than this, so skin has time to settle.
  • Last laser hair reduction session about four weeks before the day, so any redness is long gone.

Two weeks before

  • A gentle, familiar facial if you would like one.
  • No new products, no new treatments.
  • Shave rather than wax any area that needs hair removal if you are on a laser course.

The final week

Five to seven days before

  • Brow lamination, if you have had it before and liked it.
  • Lash lift and tint, so lashes settle into a soft curl.
  • A hydradermabrasion facial, if your skin is used to it.

Two to five days before

  • Signature brow shaping and tint, so any redness has gone and colour has softened slightly.
  • Facial waxing for the upper lip or chin, if that is what you normally do and your skin tolerates it.

The day before

  • Nothing new. Drink water, rest and keep skincare simple.
  • No waxing, peels or exfoliating.

Planning around Eid and Ramadan

Eid dates move each year, about eleven days earlier than the year before, so check the expected date early and book ahead. During Ramadan, many people prefer appointments later in the day, so ask us early about late-afternoon or weekend times, and skin can feel drier while fasting. A hydrating facial can help in the second half of the month. Brows, lashes and waxing are best booked in the last few days before Eid, which is a busy time, so please request your appointment early.

For mothers, sisters and guests

You do not need a year-long plan. A skin analysis or facial a month before, a lash lift and tint a week before and brow shaping a few days before is a lovely, simple routine.

When to see your GP

If your skin flares badly before an event, for example with sudden breakouts, a rash or a cold sore, see your GP or pharmacist rather than trying a new treatment. Stress and late nights can trigger flare ups, and medical care is often quicker.

Start your plan

Planning early takes the pressure off the final weeks. Explore our brows and lashes menu and facials and skin, or book signature brow shaping and we will help you map the timeline to your date.

Quick answers

When should I get my brows done before my wedding?

Brow shaping two to five days before, and lamination three to seven days before. Try both for the first time months earlier.

Can I have a facial the week of my wedding?

A gentle, familiar facial such as hydradermabrasion is fine about five days before. Avoid anything new or strong in the final two weeks.

How early should I start laser hair reduction before a wedding?

Ideally six to nine months ahead, because a course needs several sessions spaced weeks apart.
